This Spiraea japonica 'Firelight' is a compact, deciduous shrub that thrives in sun or partial shade. It produces abundant bright pink flowers from late spring through early autumn, adding continuous colour to borders, mixed plantings, or containers.
New growth emerges red-orange in spring, then greens up through summer, developing purple-red tones again in autumn before leaf drop.
Low maintenance and easy to grow, this shrub suits a wide range of garden styles.
Plant in full sun to partial shade. Height reaches up to 60 cm.
Supplied in 1L or 2L grower’s pots.
More information: This shrub is deciduous and will shed its leaves in autumn; fresh new growth appears in spring. Prune Spiraea immediately after flowering; mature plants can be cut back by one third of old shoots to the base.
